Elderly Care Concierge
For nearly 35 years, Sherri Sparks had worked with some of the nation’s biggest and most popular brands, leading projects, programs and teams to deliver effective solutions to complex challenges.
But at the height of her career, Sparks was presented with an opportunity that would take her far from executive boardrooms, company-wide technology integrations, and sales campaigns. It was an opportunity that arose primarily through personal need that was fueled by a passion to serve a greater good.
Sparks and her sister had been struggling with the prospects of caring for an aging mother. They both had family and career obligations that prevented them taking a personal “hands-on” approach, but neither sister nor their mother were looking for a retirement living arrangement. They were seeking a solution that allowed them (adult children) to support their parent in a manner that fostered an independent lifestyle with the added security knowing there would be help for any issues that would arise.
Sparks did her research and found there were services that met the criteria, but something kept gnawing at her that there was still a better solution. Then came her epiphany. Skilled in project management, bringing people together to develop solutions, and tracking results, Sparks took on the challenge herself to build an organization that would become a premier service provider.
In January 2022, Sparks unveiled Elderly Care Concierge to the Dallas-Fort Worth marketplace. Its mission is to improve life experiences and provide peace of mind for families by delivering timely services supporting the physical and emotional needs of seniors. Elderly Care Concierge professionals allow adult children to tend to their own work and family obligations knowing that their adult parent(s) are receiving the appropriate assistance to lead an enjoyable and independent lifestyle.
Clients are assigned a concierge who is available on a 24/7 basis to address any needs they might have. The support is delivered through a network of professional partners with expertise in home services, transportation, coordination of medical care, legal services, nutrition, financial services, social/mental wellness and life planning. Sparks has a vested interest in Elderly Care Concierge not only because it’s her brainchild and serves as president, but also because her mother is the company’s first client.
Prior to the launch of Elderly Care Concierge, Sparks spent 14 years with the Sabre Corporation, working her way up from program management roles to leading business development efforts and managing some of the company’s largest accounts. She has also worked in the financial services and data management industries. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan and has lived in Dallas since 2000. She and her husband Carl have three children.
